The event features the winter estates of both Thomas Edison and Henry Ford decked out in 1920’s era holiday decor. While Edison and Ford Holiday Nights takes place over several festive evenings, one special night caps off the season with Fort Myers’ biggest holiday social event, Luminary at the Edison Ford. Taking place on the Saturday following New Year’s Day each year, Luminary transforms the Edison and Ford estates into an elegant wonderland complete with food, entertainment, dancing and elaborate luminaries lighting up the properties. From October through April, the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers hosts its weekly GreenMarket farmers market and artisan bazaar. The elaborate display features over 200 inflatable decorations, plus tens of thousands of lights synchronized to music. Local radio stations even broadcast the music so visitors can tune in from their car. Sandi Land Christmas House officially opens the day after Thanksgiving and runs nightly from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. until December 31st, including holidays. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
